Art Heals Life!

I borrowed my title from a great quote that I scrolled upon this week.  The full quote from Robert Genn is "Art is a form of love. Art is the ultimate gift. Art heals life."  I have known this and have been motivated by this concept to bring creative opportunities to you and others for some time now.  Seeing this worded in this way inspired me to dig a little deeper.

I found that studies have been done as recent as 2016 to support what I have known from the experience of teaching others and from my personal artistic endeavors.  The art process can separate us from our daily stress and give our bodies stretches of rest needed to experience physical healing, most notably in our minds and by boosting our immune system.  The study I found through google used all of the mental health buzz words we hear related to our brain function, dopamine, endorphins and serotonin.  These essential brain hormones are all stimulated through engaging in creative activities. It has long been my humble opinion that canvas, paint and other art mediums are a far superior stimulant to induce these powerhouse hormones than our phones or other artificial temporary fixes.  Once again, I know from personal use.

Art is not the only way to achieve authentic benefits, but for some it is an essential source.  Are you that someone?  Either way, this source is truly "a gift" to all who choose to engage.  Even though I did not need science to back up what I have found to be true, it sure is fun to know that what I have chosen to do on the daily is a ticket to better mental and physical health!  I am so glad you are on this journey with me!
