Mermaids do inspire us to imagine! They speak to our sense of confidence and freedom. We like them so much this is not our first mermaid design in our Mixed Media Club! This made for you creative space is full of inspiration, adding a new idea to the library of videos, templates and supply lists every single month! Once you get started, you won’t want to stop! Are you dreaming of the ocean this spring? This month’s background technique will take you there. For us, art is all about meditative processes. And the best part is, it doesn’t have to be perfect. This is a great opportunity to work on your brush stroke skills and painting wet on wet. So many things can happen on a canvas when you relax and allow it!
We can’t think of a more fun design to pick out paper and found objects for! The more glitter and glam, the better! You can use any type of paper, scrapbook, painted book pages, magazines, and tissue paper to name a few. Our template will help you get started with the mermaid shapes, but you may find yourself cutting freestyle to customize your canvas. Look at mermaid art for further inspiration. This design proved to be a great time to dig out those fabric scraps and sequins you might have packed away for a rainy day. Create using one Mermaid or fill the ocean. Either way, your finished piece will be a one of a kind treasure!
