I thought it might be fun to look back at where we started and where we find ourselves now - I am so grateful that you have chosen to come along for the journey!

The main goal has always been to gather people together and help them tap into their creativity. Both of these things help to improve our quality of life and ultimately that of the folks around us. The more we grow and build our sense of self-worth and accomplishment, the more we have to pour out to others. And we need others. Even the most introverted artist needs connection, however they chose to engage within their comfort level.

We have worked hard to facilitate this by doing everything from selling art supplies and local art to offering experiences in our local community and online. We have overcome many challenges, from a pandemic shutting down a planned grand re-opening in Manteo to having our Kitty Hawk Christmas in July Art Markets shut down for no good reason. These things felt defeating in the moment but they in no way defined or undermined our “Why”.

Our “WHY” is YOU! Whether or not you think of yourself as a creative, one thing is for sure, you appreciate and enjoy the company of a creative community. Perhaps you are drawn because you know there’s more! And I am here to tell you, it is for you! Many view art as something for someone else - I can assure you it is for everyone. I am not saying everyone should be an artist, but art processes are beneficial for everyone. Just like any endeavor, the more experiences we bring to the table, the more we have to work from and continue to build on. Art processes are building blocks. And mixed media is the easiest way to engage in art processes without needing a great deal of training. Inspiration alone can be the fuel.

So many of you have yet to tap into all that creating and mixed media have to offer! Helping you step off of the sidelines and into finding more potential than you ever thought you could have gets us up in the morning! It isn’t something we have to do; it is something we get to do!
